Ok for my fourth year art class, I am creating a pop up book based on Robert Burns' poem Tam o'Shanter and for my fourth year project I am creating a 3D pop up book using Maya. I have done a lot of research and I've got all the scripts, shotlists story boards etc out of the way and I am starting on the final pieces. Meg is Tam's Horse and drawing horses can be difficult so here is some investigative drawings for Meg.
This blog will contain examples of my work, particulary my work from my Computer Animation with Digital Art degree.

Virtual Environment
For my virtual environment class this year, I created a modern art gallery. It is roughly based on the Middlesbrough Modern art gallery. Modelling is not my strong point but I gave it my best and used my own art work as textures. The building is not to bad but I should of spent more time on the surrounding area. The interior lighting is a bit too bright and the textures are a bit reflective.

Short Animatic
This is an animatic that I created as part of a group. We had to develop an idea and produce a short animatic for that idea. We chose to create an advert to promote safe sex. As a group we shared out the paper work, character design and animation and the final outcome, including paper work was well received.
Book Intervention Project
The brief for this project required you to take a book of your choice and adapt it. You could make a sculpture out of the book or simply use the pages as a canvas for drawing or painting. I chose to use a dictionary and randomly chose pages to use. On those pages I then chose a word and tried to show the meaning of that word.

African Art
This work was produced as part of my advanced higher art. The brief was to create a final piece in a style which has influenced you. For this I chose Africa, I wanted to include elements of it's dry deserts so I used dry plants and animal skeletons. Pablo Picasso has always been a tremendous influence to me and as part of the brief, I researched his work and experimented with his styles. I tried to capture his essence in my final piece but still keep it my own work.
